Bridging Culture & Future

Futuloka: Bridging Culture & Future

When Futuloka was first launched, it took the form of a cultural-tech festival—a convergence of artists, creators, technologists, and audiences curious about the future of creativity in the age of decentralization. The festival featured exhibitions, talks, music performances, and experimental showcases—each reflecting the potential of blockchain to change how art and culture are created, valued, and experienced.

However, while these events sparked enthusiasm, they also revealed the limitations of an event-based model. Short-term events can generate visibility, but they often lack the continuity needed to build knowledge, grow communities, and incubate innovation. With the momentum from its early stages, Futuloka needed to go deeper—beyond the spectacle, toward structure.

Then we’re shifting from an event-oriented festival to a program-based platform with long-term goals. This change is not simply a pivot in format, but a strategic reimagining of how the initiative can more meaningfully contribute to the future of Indonesian art, culture, and technology. As a core unit of Spektakel, Futuloka is now positioned as an open innovation laboratory, designed to foster sustainable exploration, collaboration, and knowledge-building by leveraging blockchain technology.
